But Aoteru will find no rest there, as he immediately encounters a certain individual.

Tonotsugu Taira, Denki Taira's heir, is ordered by Fuji III, the emperor of Yamato, to go to Kanazawa with the Borderland General Corps' Right Lieutenant General, Goh Sugoh. While Tonotsugu is optimistic about this opportunity, Sugoh harbors concerns that it is a trap set by Seii.

When Seii invades Kuzuryu Castle, tensions between Seii and Yamato come to a head. Sensing something strange about the situation, the Yamato army led by Ryumon decide to halt their advance. Meanwhile, having gone ahead, Tonotsugu's men enter Seii without knowing that war has broken out, and are given a warm welcome by Muuton Nagao.

Aoteru finally reunites with Denki Taira, but his eyes are fixed on something else entirely. As Aoteru reveals the true meaning behind his call to retreat, Denki stands firmly opposed. In the end, all decisions are placed in the emperor's hands.

Through a heartfelt plea, Aoteru finally persuades the emperor. Yoshitsune delivers an imperial decree to Ryumon, who prepares to face the Seii forces. Meanwhile, Seii schemes to annihilate Yamato with its "Winter General Strategy." As both sides act, the conflict between the two nations reaches its climax.
